Shawn Caldera is the owner and operator of one of the first Esports startups in Western Canada. He also teaches youth and teens at the College of New Caledonia as an instructor for programming and game design. He is self-taught in the areas of web design, graphic design, digital education, digital marketing/social media management, and event management. He’s also done graphic design and social media management for a variety of businesses.
Todd Whitcombe is an Associate Professor in Chemistry and Chair of the Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Environmental Engineering program at the University of Northern British Columbia. His research interests include the role of metal ions in the environment and the public understanding of science. He has engaged in a number of activities oriented around discussing science with broad audiences, including a weekly science column in the Prince George Citizen, creation of the Active Minds summer science camp for youth, and the Central Interior Science Exhibition. He has delivered 400+ radio and television interviews discussing many different aspects of science for the general public.
Wendie Holbrook is the owner of a consulting business that provides executive assistant services to various clients, and educational seminars to entrepreneurs about the facets of working remotely. She has been employed in this emerging field for five years, and has just recently moved to Prince George. She has an educational background in theology from Northwest Baptist Theological College, as well as science and psychology studies from Kwantlen University College.
As a self-employed single mother, Wendie is expanding people’s perception of virtual entrepreneurship, what it means in the here and now, and what it means for the future workforce.
